Mir presents a video documenting her own gravitational 
experiments, examining the connections between science and art.

Sunday, May 20 - Second Annual Gran Fondo New York (GFNY)

  While several marquee racing and sporting events call New York City home, GFNY is the only competitive bike race. In the same vein as the ING New York City Marathon, Gran Fondo New York is a physical challenge and goal for people who lead a healthy lifestyle year-round and find activities where they can challenge themselves. The style is based on Italian competitive cycling, with 4 timed climbs and four categories: overall, age groups, cycling team, and him & her. The rest of the course is not timed. Also available is the Medio Fondo, a 60-mile, non-competitive option for cyclists who want to experience Gran Fondo but are not ready for the full 110-mile course.

 Course starts in New York City at the George Washington Bridge, climbs to Bear Mountain Park and ends at the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken, New Jersey.

For more info: More than 2,000 participants raced in 2011, including international competitors from 63 countries and U.S. participants from 42 different states such as George Hincapie, a former Lance Armstrong teammate. The projected participation for the 2012 race will be over 5,000 riders.
