Here’s 5 Facts about the Early Learning Program:

  1. The Early Years are still rooted in the liberal arts and STEM.
PreK fosters early numeracy and literacy through a full liberal arts program with course blocks such as Math Discovery, Expressive Arts, Mandarin, Language & Literacy, World Discovery, and more. These concepts build through courses like Civics, History & Science, Engineering, and Visual Arts in Kindergarten, exposing students to a wide array of disciplines from the outset.
  2. Our unique two-teacher model is designed to nurture and support.
While every course block is taught by a different teacher with subject expertise, students also benefit from the added support and structure of an Early Learning Teaching Fellow who stays with them in their classroom throughout the day.
  3. The ELP Curriculum maximizes “lightbulb” moments.

The earliest years of a child’s education are marked by meaningful discoveries as students solidify their sense of self and their relationship to the world. PreK and Kindergarten are designed to maximize these moments by creating a balance between a child’s natural tendencies to question, explore, and create with intentional, academic learning.

4. ELP students master skills above their grade levels.

Because the Early Learning Program is rooted in academic learning, by the time students are in Kindergarten, they are exposed to more formal instruction. They work toward mastering first grade skills, leaving them with an incredibly strong foundation to work from by the end of the year.

5. We prioritize Social-Emotional growth.

While academics are important, our program also focuses on social-emotional development and support. We do this by making sure our classrooms are a safe place for exploration, taking risks, making mistakes, facing challenges head-on, and helping students learn to be good peers.
