Our family recently visited Immersive Gamebox in Manhattan, and it turned out to be one of the most unique and engaging activities we’ve done together in some time. Located opposite the Essex Market on the Lower East Side, the space is perfect for all ages!
We were hosted by Immersive Gamebox, but all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
We played Escape AI, a cooperative game that put our team on a mission to outwit a powerful artificial intelligence that trapped us in its digital web. The game was dynamic and fun, with just the right balance of problem-solving and reflex-based challenges. Our kids, ages 15, 14, and 11, were completely engrossed in solving the puzzles, and even we as parents found ourselves getting competitive in the best way.

Unlike traditional video games, at Immersive Gamebox, you wear light visor headbands that track your movements, and instead of holding controllers or screens, you interact directly with the room, touching the walls and reacting to visual prompts. The experience was a great workout for our minds and our bodies. One of the things we enjoyed was that the game is built around teamwork. Everyone plays together, and your progress depends on how well you collaborate. It took no time at all for the kids to get into the groove and start strategizing. The technology is impressive - smooth, intuitive, and very immersive.
We booked a 60-minute session, which flew by. I highly recommend Immersive Gamebox for a fun-filled hour with friends or family. It’s also a fantastic option for birthday parties! Booking online is easy, and each reservation gets a private game room, so you’re not paired with strangers. Given the novelty, quality, and how much fun we had, we felt it was a worthwhile experience.
If you’re looking for something different to do in the city that combines tech, teamwork, and fun in a really fresh way, Immersive Gamebox is absolutely worth a visit. We’re already planning a return trip to try one of their other games!
